The Ben Ben Stone

I frequently see posts on social media and elsewhere on the internet about the Ben Ben Stone. The text accompanying the photo varies, but typically goes something like this:

The Pyramid of Ben Ben has puzzled scientists for thousands of years and until now they have not been able to solve the puzzle. The pyramid is located in the Egyptian Museum. The pyramid is made of black iron stone, which is only found in space in space meteorites. All its components do not exist on the face of the Earth..

And here the second puzzle appears because it is iron stone, which is very impossible and difficult to shape and drill. How was it cut with such precision at angles and deviations? It should be impossible to engrave it! Scientists have found it impossible for any tool, whether ancient or modern, to carve inscriptions with such precision unless a laser cutting tool is used. There is also a mystery, which is that the black iron meteorite stone, thanks to the composition of its components, emits positive electromagnetic energy in its surroundings, which makes everyone who approaches it feel psychologically comfortable.

I don’t know who wrote that, but they have much wrong information. The photo shows the capstone that once rested on top of Amenemhat III’s pyramid. It was carved out of basalt. The ancient Egyptians used LOTS of basalt because it was abundant, and it’s relative softness makes it fairly easy to work with.

The original Ben Ben pyramid is a legend. *IF* it ever existed, it’s long lost. Nobody has ever seen it.

The capstone has NOT “puzzled scientists for thousands of years”. The carvings have long been translated. As stated above, it’s in the Egyptian Museum. It weighs about 9,900 lbs.

Black iron stone is not only found in space meteorites! And anyhow, if it were made of iron, as the conspiracies claim, it would weigh almost 26,000 lbs. If that was the case, it probably wouldn’t be inside the museum because it would be too heavy! It would have to be in an outside location.

If you see this conspiracy, keep scrolling, because it’s just stupid.
