About Cathy’s Turning Leaves

Welcome to Cathy’s Turning Leaves, a personal journal where thoughts, memories, questions, and observations are given room to unfold.

Like leaves stirred by the wind, the subjects here may travel in many directions. Cathy writes about history and the lessons we carry forward from it, politics and current events, social and economic issues, Christian faith, family and community, and the experiences and memories that have shaped her own life.

Some entries examine serious questions. Others revisit moments from childhood, explore an interesting piece of history, consider something happening in the world today, or simply follow a thought wherever it happens to lead.

At its heart, Cathy’s Turning Leaves is exactly that: a rustling of thoughts.

It is not intended to be a news organization, academic publication, political organization, or theological authority. It is one person’s place to read, remember, research, question, reflect, and write.

You may agree with some of what you find here. You may disagree with some of it. Either way, thoughtful reading and respectful conversation are always welcome.

The world changes. Our understanding changes. New experiences cause us to reconsider old ideas, while memories sometimes look different when viewed through the distance of years. Turning the leaves gives us an opportunity to look again.

Thank you for visiting Cathy’s Turning Leaves and spending a little time among the pages.

May something here give you a thought worth carrying with you.
