Trump the Dissembler

Trump misspeaks frequently and takes undeserved credit. I’m only covering a few of the more recent ones here. It’s impossible for one person to keep up with ALL the craziness. It would have to be a full time job!

He’s been mentioning the “unfair trade” between this country, and Canada and Mexico. Trump is the one who signed the USMCA. He made a show of it when he did.

Canada has ZERO tariffs on imported American dairy and poultry as long as the quota limits aren’t exceeded. Since the quotas haven’t been exceeded since USMCA went into effect, those tariffs haven’t been enacted. Trump has obviously forgotten that he and Canada worked out these details during his first term.
As a matter of fact, the US exports three times as much of these products to Canada than we import from Canada.
But wait! We have reciprocal tariffs on Canada if we exceed our total! Click HERE to see a chart!

Not true. 16 US banks are operating in Canada. U.S. banks make up half of all foreign bank assets in Canada.

Puleeeze… There is no such thing as transGENDER mice. TransGENIC mice are those which have been mutagenically altered for medical research purposes. They are used for everything from Alzheimer’s to cancer research, and just about everything in between.

Whatcha talkin’ about Willis? Tariffs make farmers lose half their markets. Farmers will be going bankrupt like they did when you imposed tariffs in your first term.

During his address to Congress on a few nights ago, Trump expressed optimism regarding growth in the U.S. auto industry, citing Honda’s decision to build a new plant in Indiana as a key example.

Honda was quick to respond:

Honda has made no such announcement and will not comment on this report. The Honda Civic has been made in our Indiana Auto Plant since the facility opened in 2008 based on our longstanding approach to build products close to the customer. We have the flexibility to produce products in each region based on customer needs and market conditions

Trump was rather pleased with himself for making a deal with Taiwan to build factories here. Except it wasn’t his deal. It was Biden’s deal before Trump started his second term. Typical Trump MO. When he does something that turns out bad, he blames someone else. When someone else does something that turns out good, he takes credit. I’ve watched him do that over and over and over. How in the world do MAGAs not see what’s so obvious?

I saved this one for last because of the long quote I’m including.

A man on Facebook posted this to explain why it’s so hard to get Fentanyl from Canada to the US. I’ve included his quote (sic) below for convenience.

I realize it’s second hand knowledge on my part, so take it as you will.

Let me explain something to the morons that believe these tariffs are about drugs entering the USA and Canada needs to do more. As you all know I own a cross border transport company so I think I have enough experience to explain this. If you are not a commercial transport driver or have never commercially transported product from Canada to the USA or the USA into Canada sit down, shut up and pay attention. If you still feel that’s what the tariffs are about after reading this there is just no help for you. You simply lack too many brain cells.
Let me break out my crayons for you….
In the map image below you will see the border crossing in Sarnia. As a commercial driver we refer to its 0440 BWB.
The red circle is Canada Customs. The Blue Circle is US Customs. Each guard station is one direction only. You can not turn around.
When entering Canada I get my ass in line with a bunch of transport trucks. As I pull up for inspection I am greeted by a CBP officer and I hand them my paperwork for the load I am hauling. CBP either lets me into Canada based on my paperwork being done (and my extensive crossing history) or they pull me over to the side and search my truck and the trailer I’m hauling. If all checks out they stamp my paperwork and let me into Canada.
The blue circle waaaaay over the other side on AMERICAN LAND is USBP (United States Border Patrol). Like entering Canada I line up with the trucks and go through a series of questions with the US Officer. If I pass the test they let me enter the USA.
Now here is where so many people are for whatever reason confused. At NO POINT when entering America am I greeted, inspected, waved at, winked at, nodded at, by a CANADIAN BORDER PATOL OFFICER.
If I had drugs of any kind in my truck when entering the USA not one single Canadian BP officer would know about it and they can’t stop me. Why? Because it’s AMERICAN CROSSING ON AMERICAN SOIL WITH AMERICAN CUSTOMS OFFICERS!
Trumps claim “Canada lets too much fentanyl into America” is a false accusation. It is an illusion. A distraction. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE!
Does Canada let too much fentanyl into Canada? Yes I believe they do BUT Canada could be overun with crackheads and it still would not be Canada letting them into the USA!!!
But hey, maybe you’re stubborn and even with the knowledge you still think it’s Canada’s fault. Let me humour you on that. Let’s say Liberals, NDP, Conservatives, The Green Party or the damn Bloc is running government. The prime minister says ok Trump we got you and they station 100 military soldiers at every Canadian customs security check along the southern border. Guess what. If I want to transport fentanyl into America even those 100 soldiers are not going to be able to stop me because I am no where near Canadian Border Patrol. It is AMERICA’s responsibility to inspect all vehicles entering America!!!
I hope this help inform you on how commercial crossing works and if you STILL think Canada is letting fentanyl into America you are beyond help.
