MAGAs Outed Themselves on Easter (Updated April 15)
After I published this post, Trump posted his “Trump as Jesus” meme on Truth Social. I’ve added a section about that below the original post.
By now, you’ve seen the above screenshot multiple times on social media.
I see a lot of memes with fake Trump posts. I always go to Truth Social to see if he really said it. If he didn’t, I make sure to inform people that it’s a fake meme. I saw this meme, and thought for sure it was fake, but I went and looked and he really did post that! Go to Truth Social and see it for yourself! (Sorry for the language, but he said it, not me).
I got on Facebook that morning and saw the screenshot posted by multiple people, on their own timelines, and in groups. As the meme circulated, I made some fascinating observations.
At first, MAGAs were adamant that Trump did not post that. People kept telling them, yes he did. It’s on his Truth Social. But they wouldn’t go look. They just kept yelling that it was fake. The left was just lying!
Consider that response. The fact that MAGAs vehemently denied that Trump could have posted that, clearly reveals that they recognized it for the contemptible message that it was.
It wasn’t long before it became common knowledge that Trump DID post it! A remarkable thing happened. MAGAs did a 180Β° flip and began finding ways to justify that statement. By the end of the day, MAGAs had embraced it as some kind of brilliant pronouncement.
Can we say, “Cognitive Dissonance”?
If any other president had posted this, or any politician on the left, MAGA heads would explode. But Trump gets a free pass no matter what he says or does. The hypocrisy is mind-boggling.
More MAGA Madness
On the morning of April 13, the condemnable “Trump as Jesus” image was being shared all over social media. Trump had posted it on Truth Social during the night. Initially, the MAGA response on Facebook was similar to their response on the cursing post of several days before (as seen at the top of this post). Deny! Deny! Deny! Go to This Link to see a couple of screenshots and my commentary about them.
MAGAs on Facebook may have been denying that Trump posted it, but MAGAs on Truth Social were seeing it, and their response was very different. They were furious! Hundreds of people were commenting on the post, and a great number of them were demanding that Trump remove the post because it was blashemous.
Trump did delete the post after a few hours, and then said the following in a presser afterwards:

You can watch his remarks for yourself, in case you missed it, at This Link, a little after the one minute mark.
A few points to make:
- In spite of MAGA denials, Trump did admit to posting it.
- He said he thought he was portraying a doctor. That’s pure baloney. Of course he knew that was supposed to represent Jesus.
- He said it was the “fake news” that labeled it as symbolizing Jesus. No, it was not. It was his own followers who first made that connection and reamed him for it. If it really had been the “fake news” that had made that assertion, rather than Trump’s own followers, he would have left the post up strictly out of spite.
But he did remove it, then MAGAs did what MAGAs do; by the end of the day, many of them were looking for ways to justify it or explain it away, and deriding everyone who saw it for the shameful thing it was.

Nice write-up β clear and to the point. Did you notice whether most people who denied the post ever admitted they were wrong afterward, or did they just double down silently? Also curious if you saw any examples where someone changed their stance publicly.

I didn’t notice anyone who publicly admitted they were wrong. Some of them dirty deleted their own comments. Mostly they just went silent.
